What I want Women to Know about a New Missouri Law
The new breast cancer legislation that just passed in Missouri, particularly affects women who are high-risk for breast cancer, meaning that they have a 20% or greater lifetime risk of breast cancer.
I thought it was particularly important to pass this high-risk breast cancer legistlation in Missouri because Missouri has one of the highest breast cancer death rates in the country. If we can get these women insured, who are at high risk of breast cancer, we can save more lives in Missouri.
This new law passed requires insurance companies to pay for breast cancer screenings for young women who are at high-risk beginning at age 30.
